My Fall Fashion Cravings

Despite it being football season, I do love fall… and not just because I love anything and everything pumpkin flavored, but also for the fashion.  Sweaters, denim, boots, coats – I love all of it.  My fashion sense bends towards the classic, but here are some of my cravings this season to keep things current with a little edge.

1. Military inspired Jacket

This one from Rag and Bone Jean is great – has structure, so it is still figure flattering.  I see this paired with black denim, sleek black long sleeved t-shirt, and #10 – those amazing Stuart Weitzman 5050’s.

2. Denim that doesn’t feel like Denim

AG (Contour 360), Paige (Transcend), and 7 for all Mankind (Slim Illusion) have all recently come out with denim that well, isn’t denim… and I am obsessed.  Now, these are not jeggings.  They look like real jeans, but they are so comfortable and flexible, I can literally do the splits in the AG and Paige versions.

3.  Anoraks, anoraks, anoraks.

I got this particular jacket from Stitch Fix and have worn it a TON, love it.

4. Gray jeans

These are still dark enough to be flattering and not draw undue attention to the thigh area, but different enough to warrant being an addition to the wardrobe.

5.  Ear cuffs

There are a lot out there that are very “statement”.  I prefer the more understated versions like you see below.

7.  Motorcycle boots

With skinny denim tucked in?  And comfortable?  Yes, please.

8.  Jeans with zippers

Yes, I was also worried about the zipper placement, but these from Paige Denim are surprisingly not thigh enlarging 🙂

9. Handbags with a chain detail

Jimmy Choo has not only amazing footwear, but I love his handbags as well!

I have been obsessed with this Stella McCartney fold over bag for almost 2 years now… it is a classic but with just enough edge to keep it interesting.

10.  Over the knee boots

I know, this look is hard to pull off for a shortie like me, but the Stuart Weitzman 5050’s are a perennial favorite.

Happy Fall everyone!

A perfect fix? July Stitch Fix Review

IMG_0673 IMG_0676

Yay!  I just received my latest shipment from Stitch Fix and was fortunate to have my same stylist as last month, Jenny L.  In fact, she did such a good job, I need a little help this month deciding what to keep!  What was so great about this fix is that she included 2 items directly off my Pinterest page, and the rest were filled in based upon Jenny’s interpretation of my style.

Not sure how Stitch Fix works?  Click here and read my post from last month to get all the ins and outs, information about the referral links, and some advice on how to achieve your best fix!  This review is not sponsored by Stitch Fix and (unfortunately) I was not compensated in any way for my opinion.

Okay, so here we go…

Fun2Fun Susie Solid V-Neck Tank $44

IMG_0687 IMG_0686

To start, green is my favorite color, so it did have me at “hello”.  It is low-cut, so will always have to be paired with a tank, or as I have it paired here, with a Coobie strapless bandeau (perfect for this type of situation, where in the summer you don’t necessarily want a second layer but need a little coverage).

Eight Sixty Ginsberg Metal Bib Striped Tank $68

IMG_0677 IMG_0702

Not going to lie, when I “cheated” and peeked at my shipping list before my fix arrived, this was the item I was least excited about.  However, the fabric is amazing.  Although it isn’t form fitting, it is not as loose as I have found most other Stitch Fix tops to be, which is definitely a positive.  What do you guys think?!  Pictured with my Pilcro Hyphen Fit jeans from Anthropologie – a great relaxed pair of distressed jeans that I wear probably way too much 🙂  I bought these a year ago, but here are this year’s version.

Pink Martini Joshua Colored Ankle Jean $64

IMG_0776 IMG_0786IMG_0757

I had a hard time getting a good picture of these.  Overall, I did love the color.  However, these are super low rise, just take a look at how short the zipper is in the picture above!  With a loose fitting top, the resulting muffin top from such a short rise isn’t visible, but this obviously results in not the most comfortable of fits.  I honestly wouldn’t even really consider keeping these because of the fit, but if I keep the other 4 items, it is cheaper for me to keep these and receive the 25% discount.  This is exactly why I need some input…

Paired with a Design History tank from Hot Mama on the left and a Deletta t-shirt from Anthropologie on the right (both purchased about one year ago).

Pink Martini Devin Lace Detail Tie-Waist Maxi Dress $88

IMG_0698 IMG_0700 IMG_0688

The fabric of this dress has a nice weight and drapes well.  I love the fact that it isn’t black, like so many of the dresses in my closet.  The lace detailing on the shoulders and upper back also gives this dress a unique touch without being too fussy.  The best part?  With my awesome Jimmy Choo wedges, no need to hem (barely, but hey I will take it)!

Last, but not least:

Market and Spruce Analisse Anorak Jacket $88

IMG_0718 IMG_0725

I had seen this on another blog review, and kinda fell in love with it.  Well, then it came in my fix and I love it even more!  The fabric is amazingly soft, and the jacket is nice and lightweight.  The hood is detachable which is also a nice touch.  The other great thing, is that I have nothing remotely like it already in my closet.  Paired with my Citizens of Humanity Rocket distressed skinny jeans (yes, I have a problem and am addicted to distressed denim) and a t.la tank that is my favorite tank ever.  This year’s version, again at Anthropologie, is unfortunately made with a thinner material, longer straps, and doesn’t come close to how awesome they were last year.  Anyways, I digress…

So what do you guys think?  Since you receive a 25% discount if you purchase all 5 items, it will be cheaper for me to keep all 5 than to return the mint colored jeans.  Are the other 4 items worth keeping?  I can’t quite call this a “perfect” fix since the fit on the jeans is pretty off, but everything that was sent is definitely my style and I consider that a success!
